Course Description

The DSM-5-TR was published in March 2022 after two years of work by more than 200 experts.  Four groups focused on Culture, Sex and Gender, Suicide, and Forensics reviewed all the chapters in addition to a work group on Ethnoracial Equity and Inclusion.  The results of these efforts consist of a new diagnosis, clarifying language to the diagnostic criteria of more than 70 disorders, new categories for disorders and conditions, a new text section for the diagnoses, and significant revisions to existing sections.  With a particular attention to culture, racism, and discrimination, the DSM-5-TR includes many updates to the language used throughout the manual and in the online assessment measures.  The new edition of the DSM also integrates all prior online updates made to the DSM-5 after its publication in 2013.
